Movie Cars

I'm a massive movie fan and especially cars in films. I wanted to do an illustration project to try make my own style, and had the perfect subject! The project has been such a passion for me, its just keeps on expanding, and I'm now working my way through animating them as well.

When looking for a style for the project, I always liked the comic book style where there is detail but with a playfulness to it. I wanted them to be colourful, but thought what if the background was the colour and the car was like a black car in a colour lit room. The highlights would be shades of the background colour giving shapes and definition. This was the base and with some trial and error, the design is a nice playful clean style.
